|
|
Hello Folks!
I'm new to D and experimenting with it, at the moment.
During my little exploration i stumbled across DBUS, a sort of interprocess communictions middleware, which is gaining traction an linux desktops. DBUS offers a low level API on which are built high level language binding (like is the case with CORBA, i suppose).
i noticed there is no such binding for D, or at least, i couldn't find any... there seems to be a c++ binding already, but i think it might be advantageous to start from scratch and to adapt to the DBUS low level API, instead of 'wrapping' another language binding...
now, i don't know if i am the right person to do this, as i'm am inexpierienced using D, but if no one else is interessted i'd experiment around abit.
what do you think?
so long,
sven |

Hi sven,
I like the idea of writing a DBUS binding for D. Me too just started with D and I like to help somewhere. Is your idea still existent?
If yes, perhaps we could give it a try...
What do you mean? |

I've noticed that there is a project at GoogleCode called "dbusdee", but alas there is no code in the SVN.
Also, I don't know what became of sv3sch's idea. |

It would be nice to have a full native D implementation of D-BUS protocol and not only a binding of the C one. _________________ -= People saying it cannot be done shouldn't interrupt those who are doing it =- |
