I've been told by several people that using stl vectors would be fastest for storing arrays, but I wanted to know if a typical D array would be as fast or faster. So in this situation should I still import the stl vectors or not?

I will have a three dimensional array in which the first dimension is indexed by an associative string while the second and third dimensions are indexed by integers.
