Running the demos\gtk\HelloWorld.exe program on MS Windows XP whenever I right click on the program icon in the Windows task bar the program displays a constant stream of warning messages to the console:

    (HelloWorld.exe:23040): GLib-WARNING **: g_main_context_check() called recursively from within a source's check() or prepare() member.
    (HelloWorld.exe:23040): GLib-WARNING **: g_main_context_prepare() called recursively from within a source's check() or prepare() member.

Is this normal and is there an easy work around for it ?

It's possibly a gtk bug, witch version are you using?

I'm using gtk runtime v2.16.6 (file gtk2-runtime-2.16.6-2010-02-21-ash.exe) from the link on the project Wiki page for Windows users.

I have also tried v2.18.7 from the binary download on http://www.gtk.org/download-windows.html and it behaves the same.

The warning message happens for every demo application (when right button clicking on the icon on the task bar), not just the HelloWorld application.

Also happens on C demo programs so it looks like this is a gtk library problem and not a gtkD problem.

Looking further I found this is gtk+ bug 552041 and has been present for quite some time and unfixed. I guess there are not many Windows users who right click on the task bar.
