Greetings fellow Derelicts,
I just finished porting a simple yet easy to play game called "spout" to (D)erelict/SDL/OpenGL: http://distanthumans.info/programming/D/spout/spout.php
It is my first time working with D and Derelict and I must say aldacron and gang have done a great job. The binary is for Ubuntu but I sure, using the "build" tool, that it will compile for windows.
The game is simple, see how high you can go in 60 seconds. The game uses particle systems with VertexArrays and performs smoothly (less than 1.0ms per frame -- without VAs it was taking about 6ms.
Anyway, I am now going to port my work-in-progress Bosconian clone over to D and hope to post here. I am not sure if I will spend the time to port my java version of StarCastle over though as I want to start on OmegaRace next.

Awesome! Nice work.
The way the exhaust clears the terrain reminds me of that old DOS game Liero, if you've seen it... it was sort of like Worms, but real-time rather than turn-based. Ahh, fond memories... it was one of the few games that we could play during class in high school, since nothing else ran on the school computers.
I compiled it on Windows and it worked flawlessly first time; so that bodes well for my planned port of my Derelict game from Windows to Linux. |

Thank Cripsy,
I had fun translating it to D. I wasn't sure if it would work under windows. The windows code was copy and pasted so I wasn't sure if it would work. .
