Hi, i have a suggestion/improvement to the -vf expand=0:-50:0:0 option...

I found out by testing several mplayer builds and front-ends that using the -vf expand=0:-50:0:0 option doesn't always expand corectly the subtitles, sometimes adding some weird lines (i found out that this is a problem in mplayer's directx filter) and worse, if the movie is 4:3 it shrinks the movie to include the black band...

Anyway, since rulesPlayer has the bug in wich it alters the video aspect of the movie when using the -vf expand=0:-50:0:0 option, i tried another commandline option -vf expand=aspect=4/3 that doesn't alter the aspect ratio, always places the subtitles at the bottom (no matter what resolution the movie has) and doesn't shrink the movie if it is 4:3.

Sincerly... i don't know what that command does Smile, all i know is that it works Very Happy, maybe if one has a widescreen monitor, it should look like -vf expand=aspect=16/9...i don't know, and in this matter, i don't have a way of testing it.

Play with it a little and maybe put it into your next release.

Hope this helps, bye

I stand corrected Smile

The bug in the original -vf expand affects the new -vf expand...

Still, i think it's better to use the new one, than the original one Very Happy (if you manage to correct the bug)

Please test 0.84 and see if it is OK.
