Currently I haven't decide this library should be error-torrent or been strict when error is occurred.

For example, when read an node or attribute does not exist, should it throw a exception anyway or should it create an node on the fly?

I would make it strict, but in the case of attributes provide a way to request its value and provide a default value to be handed back when it isn't found.
