Does someone know if this can work?
If not. Why?
Is there something one could do about it?

Yeah, I will create a branch for Qt 4.6 today. Usually, when porting to new Qt version we have to make incompatible changes. Currently we use Qt 4.5, once we ready to make a switch - we will do it. Now we are using mercurial for source control anyway, so keeping separate branches is easier.

Hi, I updated the signals branch in mercurial repository so that it works with Qt 4.6. I haven't added Qt 4.6 classes though yet. For this branch we use patched dmd2, so if you intend to use it, please contact me and I'll send you the compiler sources.

Thats good to hear.
But for me on the lonesome MacOSX side, it wont bring much...
Or will it?
(Because there (at least I couldnt find one) no source available for qt 4.6 so i cant build a noframeworks version)

Can you tell me what is the mercurial repository address.
You really should say somthing sticky in the forum about the switch.
Im still hooked to the svn and was wondering that there arent any commits.

why has the dmd version to be patched?

p.s
keep up the good work. qtd probably is the most important d project for many of us

Best

The hg repository is:
http://hg.dsource.org/projects/qtd

The branch that supports Qt 4.6 is called "signals". The patch for dmd is required for 2 reasons: to fix compiler bugs, and add 2 traits that are used in QtD.

All patches needed for QtD are applied to dmd. You can compile dmd, druntime and phobos from svn trunk and use it with signals branch.
