Where would be the best place to add the
standard import module location for GDC ?

It's either one of:

  • /opt/gdc/include/d
  • /opt/gdc/include/d/$GCC_VER

Where $GCC_VER is something like 3.3.5 or 3.4.3
(being used for Phobos, with GDC 0.11 and newer)

Currently it either doesn't find "std/stdio.o", or it
tries to recompile the system files if added with -I.

Ok, there is a problem with directory names that contain dots. I'll come up with a fix.
