Watcher
Watcher is an application that will allow you to synchronize a directory anywhere on your computer with any FTP account. Simply open a console window, configure and launch the program.
Whenever you configure Watcher to monitor a local directory, it will monitor all the file system activity in that directory, and in every sub-directory beneath it. These file system events are translated into FTP commands, which in turn transforms your FTP account into a live mirror of your local files.
Watcher is designed with web developers in mind, for many of whom FTP is the only way to get their files online. Say goodbye to the tedium of fumbling with an FTP client or making needless mass uploads (to catch all your changed files). You can now go from your editor to your web-browser, review your code changes, and go back again all without those middle steps.
Forum Usage
Please feel free to post questions, bugs, issues and anything else regarding Watcher in this forum. Check back often, as bug reports, and release announcements are also posted here.
Code Usage
Watcher is Open Source, so please feel free to hack and modify the original source. If you code a bug patch or improvement, post about it here in the forum; it just might get added to the offical source distribution. Also, feel free to contact myself (or post here in the forum) about SVN access to the code. _________________ -- !Eric.t.Anderton at gmail |
