Clean locale package

Reported by: larsivi Assigned to: kris
Priority: major Milestone: 0.96 Beta 2
Component: Tango Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

  • Some of the documentation is still based on the old formatter
  • The DateTime? stuff seems to be comprehensive enough for what we want in Tango, but must be separated into it's own package, no one notices it where it is now. tango.time ? or tango.core.time?
  • Another possibility is tango.locale.time, tango.locale, etc

There is no doubt a whole slew of stuff in there that needs to be looked at, tango.text.locale.Core has very many structs/classes.

Fredrik Olsson (PeyloW) has offered http://peylow.no-ip.org/~peylow/date.html as a light weight alternative, only Gregorian calendar. Possibly too much in the middle of Epoch and locale.DateTime??

yeah, I suspect we need to have a full review of where we are with DateTime?. The locale packages do need to be teased apart some more, as you say

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to fixed.

Full support for Locale is now enabled in Tango, and a slew of things have been cleaned up in this package.

I'm closing the ticket, since other ones have been created for DateTime? support.
